From the Polish Mountains to DOK Leipzig
A busy October for Ula Przybylska #
October is going to be a busy month for Ula Przybylska!
15th Peripatetic Conference on Cognitive Systems Modeling #
From 22–25 October, she will be attending the 15th Peripatetic Conference on Cognitive Systems Modeling, where she’ll reflect on different forms of learning, walk through the Polish mountains, and give a talk titled “Co-Constructing Explainability through Role-Play: Emerging Narratives of Contested AI Futures”, offering a sneak peek into her research within TRR 318 Constructing Explainability.
Drawing on our tabletop role-playing game and inspired by Octavia Butler’s invitation to “write yourself in” to worlds that do not yet exist, the presentation argues that co-constructed narratives can become spaces in which participants collectively imagine themselves into contested AI futures.

Closing keynote at DOK Leipzig #
And straight from the Polish mountains, she’ll be heading to Leipzig!
On 30 October, Ula will give the closing keynote at the DOK Exchange Conference during DOK Leipzig, stepping into the role of a Speculative Technology Correspondent to explore possible futures of spatial and immersive storytelling.
What might storytelling look like as AI agents, smart glasses, and increasingly personalized immersive environments become part of our everyday lives? And which futures do we actually want to create?
